DescriptionBarlas Island, Honda Bay, Palawan, Philippines - 24080283775.jpg
English: One of the Philippine's premiere tourist destinations, Honda Bay, Palawan island is also known as the "The Last Frontier". Regardless of its dazzling natural beauty, Palawan's 1,770 islands has been one of the least developed holiday destinations in Southeast Asia. So far the lack of commercialism has made Palawan very special, but it is becoming more popular mostly for international divers, as well as adventurers.
Palawan has recently been named by Conde Nast Traveller as The Best Island in The World for the second year running.
Barlas Island is approximately 10 hectares and the eastern side of island faces Arreceffi Island (Dos Palmas resort) and has pockets of white sand beach. The shallow swimming area on the east side of the island is where all boats seek refuge during stormy weather. The same safe area is also the natural breeding place of the grouper fish.
