Neeraj Bora (born 31 March 1967) is an Indian politician and a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and was elected into the legislative assembly in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election from the Lucknow North constituency.[1]

Career[edit]

Bora was formerly in the Bahujan Samaj Party, but was expelled in 2009 for what the party called "anti-party activities".[2]

He contested Mayor election for Lucknow Municipal Corporation against Dinesh Sharma BJP as INC candidate and was defeated by nearly 171,000 votes in 2012.[citation needed]

He moved to the Congress Party where he became party president for Lucknow, but resigned in 2014 citing differences with the party over politics.[3]

He switched to the Bharatiya Janata Party BJP, and was made the candidate for Lucknow North,[4] which he won in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election.[1]
