National anthem of Martinique[edit]

La Marseillaise is not the Martinican national anthem, but rather Ansamn.

  1. I have seen a YouTube video (in Spanish) of a recording during a CONCACAF football match against El Salvador.[1]
  2. The nationalanthems.info website plays Ansamn instead of the French anthem.[2]
  3. I have also seen a game on Roblox about the flags and anthems of the world. If you display the Martinican flag by hoisting it on the main flagpole (near the help centre) you get the song (as mentioned above) playing as the Martinican flag is blowing in the wind.

"Population" - needs updating[edit]

Martinique had a population of 349,925 as of January 2024. The population has been decreasing by 0.9% per year since 2013. There are an estimated 260,000 people of Martinican origin living in mainland France, most of them in the Paris region. Emigration was highest in the 1970s, causing population growth to almost stop, but it is comparatively light today.

How do we reconcile the two bolded statements? The later is sourced to an article from 2015 which I suspect is outdated. What would explain the population decline if not emigration? 2600:1702:6D0:5160:54D2:ECCA:4BCE:D8E5 (talk) 02:23, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
