A fact from Fūka Izumi appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 24 April 2024 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that Fūka Izumi became a voice actress despite initially doubting that she could be one?
The following is an archived discussion of the DYK nomination of the article below. Please do not modify this page. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as this nomination's talk page, the article's talk page or Wikipedia talk:Did you know), unless there is consensus to re-open the discussion at this page. ... that Fūka Izumi became a voice actress despite initially doubting herself into becoming one? Source: [1] ("ずっといいなと思っていて、でも無理だろうって気持ちが強かったんです。だから声優になりたいって確信したっていうのは中学生くらい。")
ALT1: ... that voice actress Fūka Izumi served as the manager of a swimming club in high school despite not being an official member of the club? Source: [2] ("高校生の頃は公認の幽霊部員でした。水泳部のマネージャーだったんですが、人数が多すぎて仕事がなくて…。でも、先生にお願いされてマネージャーなっていたから、公認の幽霊部員。")
ALT2: ... that when she was in high school, voice actress Fūka Izumi was a ghost club member? Source: same source as ALT1
Comment: Special thanks to Tails Wx who helped suggest ALT0 and ALT1 over at the Wikimedia Discord server. ALT2's fact is currently not in the article but can be added if the reviewer likes it. (Update: I have added the wording to the article regardless.) ALT2 is technically misleading since she wasn't a member of a ghost club, but rather "ghost club member" is a translation of "幽霊部員" and seems to be someone who participates in a club but is not a member of it. However, for ALT2 I was going with an admittedly clickbaity angle. The article doesn't have much other material so if none of the hooks work I'm fine with the nomination being failed.
... New enough, interesting hook linked to non-English source. Long enough, QPQ provided. No copyvio issues (<3%). Hook in article. I like proposed hooked. Whispyhistory (talk) 16:59, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Whispyhistory: Just wondering: are all hooks approved, or only the first one? The suitability of ALTs 1 and 2 were not discussed explicitly in the review. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 11:41, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
... yes, approving all 3 hooks as being in the article, interesting and followed by a non-English. Looking back at it, ALT2 is good. Thank you. Whispyhistory (talk) 11:53, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As per the nominator's request, please hold until after returning to one set a day.Schwede66 14:59, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, I think ALTs 1 & 2 are nothingburger-y, so if I promote it will probably be ALT0. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 03:47, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
